The Challenge - Video Surveillance Storage Server Management Software Limitation
A Michigan based K-12 Education clients Video Management Software had exceeded it's capacity. The video management software was limited to monitoring and storing video from 64 IP-based Video Surveillance cameras. The school had deployed over 75 cameras, but was unable to manage and store video for all of the camera's in service.
The Solution - Soltech's VMware Server Virtualization Services
Soltech developed a solution that did not require the school to purchase any additional hardware. Using VMware's virtualization technologies Soltech was able to use the existing Network Storage Server and configure it for two independent Operating Systems. Each of the Virtual Servers was configured with it's own installation of the Video Surveillance Monitoring and Management software. Each video management installation can support 64 IP-Based Video Surveillance cameras, increasing the total capacity of the system to 128 cameras. This solution saved the school district from having to purchase a second Video Storage Server and provides them with the centralized management and video storage capabilities to support all of the cameras deployed throughout the facility.
